Dunedin is located in the central part of Pinellas County. Dunedin is around 25 miles west of Tampa and 3 miles north of Clearwater. It's barrier islands are Clearwater Beach, Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island. The population for the city is around 37,000 residents. Dunedin has close to four miles of picturesque waterfront, where buildings are not obscuring the view. The views are of St. Joseph's Sound and the Gulf of Mexico.
Dunedin has an American and Scottish heritage. It is one of the oldest towns south of Cedar Key. In its early history, Dunedin had one of the largest sailing fleet of sailing vessels in Florida due to a dock built by the early settlers. The early crops shipped from Dunedin was cotton and citrus.
